Filipino Nurse Appointed to CGFNS Post

A Bicolano nurse was recently appointed as Director of Credentials Evaluation Services of CFGNS. Becoming the first Foreign Educated Nurse to join its leadership team full-time of the world’s largest credentials evaluation organization for nursing and the healthcare community.

Jasper Tolarba, DNP, RN, NEA-BC comes well prepared with more than 20 years in varied and progressive roles in nursing and is CGFNS’ first doctoral prepared nurse with Six Sigma Lean Certification to join the leadership team.

Jasper obtained his MSN degree with focus in nursing administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati and his undergraduate degree in nursing from Bicol University in the Philippines. He is certified as an adult critical care nurse by AACN and also works as an adjunct nursing professor at Sacred Heart University–Cambridge Campus. He graduated as an outstanding university student for service, having served as editor-in-chief of the Bicol University publication.

Jasper was also rewarded as a Brueggeman Fellow by Xavier University for his work on intercultural beliefs affecting health care decisions. Jasper has a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) in Leadership and Policy from Yale University in New Haven, CT.

His professional experience includes working as the Clinical Nursing Director at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA.
