Rose Constantino Honored with Jessie M. Scott Award


Dr. Rose Constantino who is an Associate Professor, Department of Health and Community Systems, University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing received The Jessie M. Scott Award.

This award was established by American Nurses Association (ANA) in 1979 to honor Jessie M. Scott, former assistant surgeon general and director of the Division of Nursing, Health Resources Administration, Public Health Service, of the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.

The award is made by the ANA Board of Directors and is presented to a registered nurse whose accomplishments in practice, education, or research demonstrate the interdependence of these elements and their significance for the improvement of nursing and health care.

Rose Constantino received this award in recognition of her highly productive career and the leadership she has and continues to provide in nursing practice, teaching, and scholarship. The award was given on June 23, 2016 at the Grand Hyatt Washington, Washington, DC, before ANA’s Membership Assembly.

She is an honorary member of the Beta Nu Delta Nursing Society and is an alumna of the Adventist University of the Philippines.

Rose is also a visitor professor of Cebu Doctors University.
