The Julita V. Sotejo Medallion of Honor is the highest recognition that UPNAAI bestows every year to an alumnus of either the UP College of Nursing or the UP- PGH School of Nursing. The recipient of this prestigious award is one who epitomizes the values, thinking, principles and vision of the Founding and First Dean of the University of the Philippines, College of Nursing, Dean Julita V. Sotejo.

Her citation reveals "her commitment to championing a community-based nurse living and working with the people using a holistic perspective and approach. She distinguished herself as a pioneer in the practice of traditional Filipino medicine and other forms of complementary health strategies".
UPNAAI is very proud of Ms. Galvez Tan’s amazing and unique contributions to its group, the University of the Philippines, the country, and humanity. She was recognized for this award and was the Keynote Speaker during the Association's 37th Annual Educational Conference and Convention held in Texas on October 14-15, 2016.
