Pinay Nurse Educator Named Director of Nursing


Rhea Faye D. Felicilda-Reynaldo, Ed.D., RN was named as the new director of the Department of Nursing, Missouri State University. She will commence to her new role effective 1 January 2017. 

Faye completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Southwestern University. She also completed her Master of Arts in Nursing (major in Medical-Surgical Nursing) and Doctor of Education (major in Educational Management) at the same university as her baccalaureate degree.

In December 2014, she graduated with a MS in Education, with a specialization in Educational Technology from Missouri State University. She is planning to pursue a Graduate Certificate in Research and Statistics at Missouri State University in the next academic year.  

Her research interests are issues in teaching and learning, educational technology, and nursing pharmacology. She currently teaches Fundamentals of Nursing, Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice, Health Assessment, NCLEX Preparation, Technology in Healthcare Education, and Global Health and Healthcare Disparities across the programs in the Department of Nursing. She is also active as a research adviser in the MSN-NE and DNP programs, as well as in the undergraduate nursing Honors program.  

She has been active in professional organizations such as the Beta Nu Delta Nursing Society and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Last year, she was appointed as visiting scholar of the University of the Visayas.
